Prosthetic rehabilitation replaces missing or badly damaged teeth with fixed or removable restorations — crowns, bridges, partial and complete dentures, and implant-supported prosthetics.

Choosing the right option

The right choice depends on how many teeth are missing, the condition of the remaining teeth, bone availability and your priorities around cost and comfort. Fixed implant-supported options offer the closest feel to natural teeth; well-made conventional dentures remain an effective, economical solution.

Every prosthesis is planned around your bite and facial proportions so that the result functions properly, not merely looks acceptable.

You may need this if

  • Missing teeth affecting chewing, speech or appearance
  • An old denture that is loose, sore or no longer fits
  • A heavily broken-down tooth that needs a crown
  • Existing crowns or bridges that have failed

Not sure whether this applies to you? Call and describe the problem — we will tell you honestly.

What treatment involves

1

Assessment and choice

The number of missing teeth, remaining tooth and bone health, and your priorities on cost and comfort decide between crown, bridge, denture or implant-supported work.

2

Preparation and impressions

Teeth are shaped where needed and accurate impressions or digital scans are taken. Shade is matched to your natural teeth.

3

Trial fitting

You see and approve the fit, bite and appearance before anything is finalised.

4

Fitting

The final prosthesis is fitted, the bite adjusted, and you are shown how to clean it.

Why it is worth doing

Restores chewing and speech Replace missing teeth so you can eat and speak comfortably again.
Natural appearance Shade and shape matched to your remaining teeth and facial proportions.
Fixed or removable options Crowns, bridges, dentures or implant-supported prosthetics to suit your case.
Costed clearly upfront Options at different price points explained before you decide.

Aftercare

  • New dentures take a couple of weeks to get used to — sore spots are adjusted, not endured
  • Clean removable prosthetics daily and leave them out overnight
  • Bridges need cleaning underneath with a special brush or floss threader
Questions

Prosthetic Rehabilitation — FAQs

Implant-supported options feel closest to natural teeth and protect the jawbone, but cost more. A well-made conventional denture remains an effective, economical solution. Both are explained honestly at your consultation.

With good hygiene and regular check-ups, many last well over a decade. Longevity depends most on keeping the gum and the tooth underneath healthy.
