Dr. Tasveer Fatima — BDS, MDS, FICOI (USA)

Your First Visit

What to expect, what to bring, and how long it takes — so there are no surprises when you arrive.

What Happens

Your first appointment, start to finish

A first consultation usually takes 30 to 45 minutes. Nothing invasive is done without explaining it and agreeing the cost first.

Step 1

Medical history

We ask about your general health, medications, allergies and any previous dental treatment. This genuinely matters — conditions like diabetes, blood thinners and heart problems all change how treatment is planned.

Step 2

Examination

A full check of your teeth, gums, bite and jaw joints, plus a routine screening of the soft tissues of the mouth for anything abnormal.

Step 3

X-rays if needed

Digital X-rays are taken only when they will actually change the diagnosis or the plan. You see the images on screen.

Step 4

Diagnosis and options

We explain what we found in plain language, what your options are, and what each one involves — including doing nothing, where that is reasonable.

Step 5

Costs and consent

You get the cost before treatment, not after. Nothing proceeds until you have agreed.

Step 6

Next appointment

Treatment is scheduled at your convenience. Urgent problems are addressed the same day wherever possible.

What to bring

  • A list of any medicines you take regularly
  • Previous dental X-rays or reports, if you have them
  • Details of medical conditions — diabetes, blood pressure, heart problems, blood thinners
  • Your ID, and insurance details if applicable
  • For children: a parent or guardian

If you're nervous

Dental anxiety is extremely common and nothing to be embarrassed about. Tell us at the start of the appointment — it changes how we work with you.

  • We explain each step before doing it
  • Agree a stop signal so you stay in control
  • Longer appointment slots so nothing feels rushed
  • A first visit can be examination and discussion only
Payment

Fees & payment

We do not publish fixed prices, because honest pricing depends on what you actually need. What we do promise is that you will never be surprised by a bill.

Written estimate

After your examination you get a clear treatment plan with costs listed before anything begins.

Options at different costs

Where there is more than one reasonable approach, you are told about all of them — not only the most expensive.

Staged treatment

Longer plans can often be phased so treatment fits your circumstances. Ask us at the consultation.
